Student Details


The Unley High School Summit Program provides a guided and supportive educational pathway for students who have been identified as high ability learners through their academic performance, diagnostic testing and success in education. It aims to enrich and challenge students to achieve academically and personally during their secondary education.

Students from year 8 and 9 participate in Summit Program courses for their core subjects (English, humanities and social sciences, maths and science) as well as their chosen language. Although some students may be more naturally inclined to particular subjects, the program offers a well rounded curriculum that provides enrichment across all learning areas.

Please provide the following information with the application form:

  1. A short paragraph from the student on why they would like to be a part of the Summit Program.

  2. A short supporting statement from current or previous teacher(s) for the subject(s) that the student is applying for, addressing their suitability for a high ability learner program.

Year 8 and 9 Selection Process for 2026

Acceptance into the Summit Program for year 8 and 9 students in 2026 is based on availability of positions in classes. Due dates for submission of applications for current Unley High School students are:
